There is limited relevance of clinical trial criteria with regards to clinical effectiveness for everyday practice. There are variations in the definition of clinical effectivenes: - Real-life context vs. clinical efficacy trials - Emphasis on global functioning vs. symptoms - Balance between efficacy and side-effects The CCEIP sought to create a model that would be: - empirically based; - clinically useful; - recovery-focused; - reflective of both the clinicians’ and the patients’ perspectives; - incorporating of the major societal/individual contextual elements outside of treatment that may influence person’s outcome
